Overview

The City of Superior seeks a full-time worker for the Street Department. Paving related experience preferred but not required. The selected individual will perform tasks in constructing, operating, repairing, maintaining and replacing the sixty-eight lane miles of concrete, asphalt and gravel city streets, three and a half miles of concrete, asphalt and gravel alleys and city owned parking lots. Also, they will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the Municipal storm drains, signs and traffic markings.

The minimum requirements include possession of a valid CDL, the ability to wear protective gear, including hearing protection, gloves and protective footwear, climbing in and out of holes, work with machinery, lift up to 50 pounds routinely and 125 pounds occasionally, be able to read and understand spoken English and possess a valid driver’s license.

The selected applicant must pass a police background check, a pre-employment physical, and pre-employment and random drug tests. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. five days a week, excluding holidays. Salary negotiable depending on experience.
